About the images on this site
Short version: none of the photography on this site shows a HiEstateSales client, property or completed sale. Here is exactly what it does show.
Illustrative, not documentary
Every image on this website is illustrative. No photograph or illustration on this site depicts an actual HiEstateSales client, an actual client's property or belongings, or an actual sale we have run. Nothing here should be read as a portfolio.
We would rather say that plainly on its own page than bury it in a footnote. When we have run sales and have permission to photograph them, real work will replace this imagery and this page will say so.
Interiors and objects: AI-generated
The interior scenes and object arrangements across the site (living rooms, dining rooms, shelved dinnerware, jewelry, koa bowls, books, packing, cleared rooms) are generated images, not photographs. They were produced with an AI image model and art-directed to look like the kind of household we actually work in on Oʻahu.
They are here because they show the subject accurately and consistently. They are not photographs of any real home, any real object, or anyone's belongings. No person appears in any of them.
Places: real photographs
The photographs on the service-area pages are genuine photographs of the places they name, used under the Unsplash License. We deliberately did not use generated imagery for these, because a generated picture of a place is not that place, and a page about Kāneʻohe should not illustrate itself with somewhere that does not exist.
Each of these was checked against the photographer's own location metadata before use:

Two candidate images were rejected during this check: one offered as windward Oʻahu was recorded in Kailua-Kona, on Hawaiʻi Island, and one offered as a Hawaii home exterior was recorded in Panama. Neither is on this site.
Why we bother publishing this
Because we ask you to trust our description of what your belongings are worth. A company that will quietly pass off a generated interior as a job it completed is telling you something about how it will describe a sale result. We would rather be checkable.
Attribution is not required under the Unsplash License. It is recorded here so the provenance of every image on this site can be traced.
