The wider team

Our local network

An estate sale rarely happens on its own. There is usually a house to clear, sometimes a property to manage, and eventually a decision about the real estate. Here is who handles what, and where the lines are.

Where we come from

Three businesses, one team

HiEstateSales comes from the team behind Hawaii Coastal Property Management and Hawaii Property Advisors. That is useful to know mainly because of what it means practically: the questions that come up around an estate rarely stop at the contents of the house, and the answers usually already exist somewhere in the same team.

It is also worth being clear about the boundaries, because they matter more than the connection does. Each of these is a separate engagement with its own agreement. Nothing here is a package, and taking one does not commit you to any of the others.

Who does what

Three different questions

The contents of the home

That is us. Sorting, research, pricing, photography, the sale itself in whichever format suits the estate, and a written settlement at the end.

How the process runs

If you are not ready to sell the property

Plenty of families are not, and there is no reason they should be. Where a house is going to be held, or rented out for a while, property management is available through Hawaii Coastal Property Management as its own separate arrangement.

If you are ready to sell the property

When the real estate becomes the question, Hawaii Property Advisors is a full-service Hawaii brokerage and can take it from there. That is a separate real-estate conversation, held whenever it suits you, and it is not part of an estate sale engagement.

Trades and services

The work that tends to surround an estate

Clearing a household usually turns up a few jobs that are not part of the sale. Through Hawaii Coastal Property Management the team keeps a directory of Oʻahu trades it has actually worked with, and the categories below are the ones that come up most often once a sale is done.

We can point you at it. We do not take a referral fee, we do not manage these vendors on your behalf as part of an estate sale, and you deal with them directly on their own terms.

Clearing and disposal

  • Junk removal and hauling
  • Cleaning
  • Carpet and upholstery cleaning
  • Pressure washing

Worth planning early. Bulky-item collection on Oʻahu is by appointment and capped, so a full household cannot simply go to the curb.

Getting the house ready

  • Handyman and general contractors
  • Painting and flooring
  • Landscaping and lawn care
  • Pest and termite control
  • Home inspection

Moving on

  • Moving
  • Locksmith
  • Restoration and water damage
  • Photography
  • Home staging and design

The full directory lives on the HiCoastal site. It is maintained there from the team's own vendor records rather than copied around, so it stays current. Browse the vendor directory.

Planning an estate sale?

Tell us where the property is, roughly what's in it, and the date you're working toward. We'll come look, tell you what the estate is realistically likely to do, and put the scope and the rate in writing before you commit to anything.

No cost for the consultation. No obligation to book a sale.
